Description Frank Steinmetzger 2007-09-02 08:28:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.1.2
OS: Linux

I'm using find as you type frequently when browsing with Konqueror. But with heavy usage comes frequent mistyping. So I want to erase the typo using backspace, but because I've set that up to "go up" in the file hierarchy, I go one level up in the currently displayed webpage's address, rather than deleting the typo.

Works fine for me with Konqueror 3.5.9 and 4 (trunk, r798696).

Works in 4.0.3, closing

Just updated my Gentoo from 3.5.8 to 3.5.9, it's still there. :-( I even tried it with a new user (hence a clean ~/.kde) to rule out any broken leftovers in my configs.
And sadly, KDE4 is no solution for me because I won't switch in the near future. :-/

I still have to report it as working for me in 3.5.9 (Kubuntu 8.04). I assume that you set "Up" as a shortcut in Konqueror, which works fine for me.

I set backspace as secondary shorcut to go up ("Aufwärts") which uses Alt+Up as default. Out of curiosity I booted a Kubuntu live cd with KDE 3.5.8 and it has this bug, too. So either you got me wrong at the beginning or the Kubuntu people made a patch for 3.5.9 that I don't have.
