Arthur,

The backtrace is not suitable. All importnat element (at start of trace are not availalble). This is want mean than digiKam is not compiled using debug informations.

I recommend you to update to:

- last digiKam stable 0.9.2
- last Exiv2 stable 0.1.5

Yeah, I figured it might not do much good being from the Ubuntu package. I'll upgrade to Gutsy soon--maybe it has the newer versions.

Hi Arthur,

if you run kubuntu you can get the latest release via Achim's repository,
  http://www.digikam.org/?q=download/binary/

Please give that a try and report back - no need to wait for gutsy ;-).

Best, Arnd

Hi Arthur,

do you have any update on this crash?
It would be good if we could track this down before 0.9.3 is released
(which will be soon ...)

Thanks a lot, Arnd

Arnd, thanks for following up on this. I did update to Gutsy about a month ago. I hadn't used Digikam much prior to getting the libgphoto2 bug fixed earlier this week, but since then, I've been tagging photos like a madman (including creating new tags) and have not run into the issue. I'm going to do more tomorrow, and I'll post immediately if I can get it to recur, but so far no luck.

It seems the problem is fixed, so I am closing this bug
(don't hesitate to re-open ...). Thanks, Arnd
