Description Roderick B. Greening 2007-08-27 15:29:24 UTC
Version: libkonq-3.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

The following patch was originally posted to KDE Apps (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/BalloonFileTip+patch?content=21480) for KDE 3.3/3.4.

This patch has been kept alive via various overlays under Gentoo as well as in various binary distributions. Not sure if this patch was ever officially submitted to KDE (preliminary search did not turn up anything).

If there is sufficient interest from the community and the patch passes QA for KDE, it would be nice to integrate this patch to libkonq.

In simple terms, the patch makes the popup tooltips for kdesktop/konqueror icons to have rounded corners similar to the way Kicker presents it. This looks more appealing and consistant, especially since Kicker already does this now.

I have an updated and clean patch for KDE 3.5.7 to be attached.

As similar request for this feature was posted under the following wishlist, but never confirmed or followed up on (no patches either): http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97034

Reports about file management mode reported against KDE 3 (konqueror) has been closed: konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed and mantained. All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list.

Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs.

Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened Dolphin reports in order to don't add duplicates.

Many thanks.
