Description Chris Morgan 2007-08-02 23:26:09 UTC
Version: 1.6.6 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-16-generic

'ZModem Upload' is a rarely used option in the Edit Menu. Already the menus in konsole have too many entries so hiding this less used one somewhere would be very nice, or at least hiding it somewhere by default but letting users make it visible by default if they want would probably address the lack of common use that I'm assuming it has. The only way to be sure would be to record UI menu selections and look at how many were chosen but I suspect I'm not alone in never needing the Zmodem Upload option.

The menus have been drastically re-organised in KDE 4. The Edit menu now only has six items in it, with the Z-Modem Upload entry not present, but there is room for it.

I suspect likewise, but taking features out of minor releases is more likely to upset people than in a major bump. I have a few ZModem bug reports so I know that some users do have a need for it.
