Description Kevin Blair 2007-07-18 20:51:35 UTC
Version: version 1.2.5 useing kde 3.5.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-4.1.2
OS: Linux

i would like to see an option to pass the feed through a external filter (say a Perl script) to filter the content shown or to add more information to the items, liferea has the option but akregator is much nicer over all

an example of one way i would use it is one of the feeds i use is
http://www.animesuki.org/rss.php
if you view the feed each item has an <enclosure > section with a useful link to the torrent it self, if it were possible to pass this feed to a perl script that enclosure section could be parsed removed and the link and content added to the <description> field for one usage, i created a cgi wrapper that does this for now, but it would be much easier to parse it if akregator passed it to the Perl script rather then my cgi hack (especially for newbie Perl programmers like me)

so the short of it, is an option that will have akregator pipe the feed to an external program and process the resulting feed, this option would need to be set on a per feed bases.
