Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-07-09 16:26:41 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=384863

Hello,

On my IMAP account, I have folders "INBOX.foo.bar" and "INBOX.foo.baz"
but I do not have a folder "INBOX.foo".

Mostly, kmail handles this properly. The folder browser tree shows
INBOX/foo in gray (while, e.g., INBOX/foo/bar is blue). The
"subscribe" option does not show any checkbox next to INBOX/foo. And
so on.

However, the search function does not seem to handle this ok. Every
time I perform a recursive search ("INBOX" and all its subfolders), I
get the following error message:

    "Error while searching.

Unable to open folder INBOX.foo. The server replied: Mailbox does
not exist, or must be subscribed to."

Best regards,
Jukka Suomela

I can still reproduce on trunk r948809. This is only reproducible for online IMAP accounts and seems to work fine on dIMAP accounts.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
