Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs

It would be similar to behavior of the history menu in Klipper -- I've been using it for quite some time and it is really useful. 

Since KMenu does not open the associated panel as well, the position seems awkward -- but if it was related to mouse cursor the reason of the placement would be obvious.

Kicker is currently unmaintained, you can look to your distribution for help, however.

The _issue_ is still valid, the fact we now have the plasma instead of kicker
does not change a thing. Please change the product only (there is no point in
sending the _same_ report again).
