Description Kurt Bennater 2007-05-17 22:20:22 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

The screensaver's password dialog should mention the alternative to authenticate via the fingerprint reader (if kcheckpass and pam are configured appropriately). Apart from that, it should be unnecessary to enter an empty password in order to be able to use the fingerprint reader instead of a password (but this might be a pam problem).

I had seen this bug report before but thought that the same wish for two different applications required two different bug reports. Anyhow, the bottom line is: Please improve the support for finger print readers throughout in KDE.
