Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-05-07 16:51:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages

Reported at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=390942

If the network connection between korn and the imap server is lost, then
korn freezes with a grey popup where normally the new mail would be
announced. Right clicking the number of emails to reach the settings has no
effect.
When I send either a SIGTERM or SIGHUP to the process, the entire system
freezes (for example no response from keyboard, pressing the reset button is
the only way forward I know of).

My server is a lot more stable now, so I have not much chance to
"experience" this bug recently.
When connection to server (this could also mean the NFS server, for
/home) is lost, I still get the freeze.
I have stopped trying to kill korn and have noticed it returning back to
live after a minute or so

I think it may be NFS related. I also use korn to monitor the same
server from a remote location (Debian testing) and here I have no problems.

A related annoyance: when it recovers, it does not resume checking for
new mail.

Changed severity to "crash". I hope to have selected only the right bugs (>100) :-)

All reports about korn has been closed because is no more developed and
mantained since KDE 4.2.

Moreover the is no feedback since a lot of time.

Thanks all anyway for contributing with bug reports.
