Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-05-04 19:10:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Reported at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=181820

It would be useful for Noatun to automatically read a file's tags from another
file, as some formats it can play (such as MOD, when the modplug plugin is
installed) do not have internal tags at all, or else have only rudimentary tags,
such as a title only.

For instance, given a file

	/home/foo/music/baz.mod

I would like Noatun to try to read tags from a file like

	/home/foo/music/baz.mod.noatun-tag

and, if it exists, use its tags instead of the tags in the original file.

I am unlikely to implement this feature myself, but please consider the "Lucky Tag Reader" plugin which may approximate what you want. It tags based on filename.

And thanks again for contributing to KDE with your feedback.

noatun has not been part of the KDE 4 release and is no longer maintained.

KDE now offers Dragon as a video player and JuK as a music player. Additionally, other popular KDE players have been ported to KDE 4, such as Amarok or Kaffeine.

If this issue is still applicable to KDE 4 applications, please add a comment or file a new report.
