Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I am missing a direct support for CVS versioning system in Kile. My system distribution (Fedora 6) contains a CVS command-line client, but Kile do not provide any user-friendly interface to use it. Though, I would prefare a LaTeX-aware merger for the CVS support in Kile. Although I am not sure whether it is possible to force an existing CVS client to use an alternative text merge tool, I believe a LaTeX-aware merger might increase the productivity of publishing in LaTeX substantially. Currently, it is very difficult to work with more people collaboratively on a LaTeX document using a CVS store when merge conflicts arise even on mere different occurance of new-line characters in the file (though the words remain unchanged).

Using a fixed line width partly helps writing LaTeX documents in conjunction with a version control system.

Besides, I'm closing this bug as it is subsumed by a newer bug.
