Description Olivier Vitrat 2007-03-28 20:16:36 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=412750

I changed my default printer in

   Control Center > Peripherals > Printers

But, it didn't change the default printer of the lp command.
That is, when I printed things like

   $ lp mydoc.ps

the job was still sent to a different printer.

So, I had to change the default printer for the lp command by, say,

   $ lpoptions -d hp2700

(This command modifies ~/.cups/lpoptions .) Oh, and I use CUPS.

answer from submitter:
Um, I don't think this is the same problem. My point was that

    the default printer of KDE should always be the same
    as the default printer of CUPS.

That is, if you change the default printer in the KDE control
panel, the contents of ~/.cups/lpoptions should also change
automatically.

Regards,
Ryo

KDEPrint is obsolete, unmaintained and will never be revived. Closing all open bugs.
