I have a question about Åbo/Turku and Tammerfors/Tampere: do these names indicate two alternate names for these cities, or are they each the full name of the city? If you have given two names for each city, can you advise me which name I should use in the database? These are two names for the cities. The former is the original name in Swedish. The latter is the subsequent fennicization (sp). The Finnish cities were all founded under Swedish rule and Swedish is still an official language. Oulu is also called Uleåborg. Tromsø is also called Romsa in the other official language there, N Sámi. Further north, the territory was Finnish. I'm not up enough on politics to sort this one out. A guess would be to use Rovaniemi, Turku, Tampere, Oulu, Helsinki, Tornio, and Tromsø and see who hollers. Would help if you could tell me what DST rules for these cities are. I've been unable to Google them out. Currently, I'll leave them without DST prespecified. Tromsø has the same rules as for Oslo. The Finnish cities (Rovaniemi, Turku, Tampere, Oulu, Helsinki, Tornio) have the same rules as for Helsinki. SVN commit 897786 by asimha: + Adding / Updating coordinates of cities in Finland / Norway. Many of our city latitudes / longitudes seem to suffer from a Degree (decimal) to DMS conversion error. I think the best solution for this is to wait till we move to MarbleWidget.
