Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

It would be nice if you could make a custom name for a given window.
For example, if I was keeping track of something on a calculator, I could change the title to say "Accounting" or "Score in card game". I came up with this idea when I was keeping track of 4 player's scores in a card game.

Thank you for your feature request and sorry that nobody has replied to the request for such a long time.

Unfortunately the feature does not seem very useful to me. First of all the caption is something which belongs to the client, it is not set by the window manager. Additionally it becomes rather difficult to actually change the caption. This is a rather difficult task given that the window manager would need to add a UI for this and the user would have to change the name manually. That sounds like a bad idea to me to expose something in the UI which is only required for a very limited number of use cases. Last but not least the client would be able to overwrite the users given title any time rendering the functionality useless.

speedcrunch -title "Accounting"
-title / --title works for the absolute majority of programs regardless of the WM
