I was not sure if this is a bug or a wishlist, but seeing that you have 'X - Use fixed font' as an option in normal mode, i decided to submit this as a bug.

Following the rationale that only the more tech-savy people would view an email as source, having fixed font as default would make sense, at least to me ;)

It's a wish. Possible workaround: Select Use Fixed Font and then View Source.

In light of the impeding KDE4 release, I am going through all bug reports I am involved in. To the best of my knowledge, this issue is still open.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
