Description Michał Kosmulski 2006-08-30 21:29:07 UTC
Version: 0.8.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

When creating an advanced search, one can select 'search rules' equal to 'Tag' and then a list of available tags is displayed in one of the combo boxes where one can select an appropriate tag. Unfortunately, this combo box is always a fixed width and is rather narrow. So for tags which have a complictaed hierarchy, like Places/Poland/Warsaw/Old Town, one only sees the beginning and the end of the tag's name. This makes finding the tag rather difficult, especially when there are a lot of different tags. My suggestion would be for the combo box with tags to expand along with the dialog box so if I enlarge the dialog, I can see a larger part of the tag's name. An even better solution (although requiring much more work) would be a custom combo box displaying the tags in the form of an expandable tree. This would allow for not all but only some tags to be visible at a time. However, even simply making the current combobox wider would help a lot.

Michael,

With digikam 0.9.0, the combo box witch display the tag hierarchy is now resizable and follow the size of dialog
