Bug 131183

Summary: Suggestion for a clearer error message when verification fails

Status: RESOLVED NOT A BUG

Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux

Description Francois Marier 2006-07-21 21:32:18 UTC
Version: 0.11.20 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I haven't been able to reproduce this to know exactly what the error message is, but jsbien@mimuw.edu.pl (Janusz S. Bień) reported on the Debian bug tracker (http://bugs.debian.org/365716) that the error message he gets when a CD burn is unsuccessful is something like:

"Unable to read ISO9660 file system"

He found the error message confusing so I would like to suggest appending something like:

"Unable to read ISO9660 file system. This could be caused by defective blank media."

you are using an ancient version of k3b and your problem does not exist
anymore. Apart from that verification will be completely reimplemented in k3b
1.0.

fixed in a newer version before bug report
