Version: 4.6.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Hi,

I'm on Ubuntu Dapper, with Linux 2.6.15-23, KDE 3.5.2, Kpilot 4.6.0, pilot-link 0.11.8.

If I sync with a fresh new Kpilot configuration and a fresh new Korganizer configuration, I get these 2 problems:

1. Korganizer calendar and todos are all messed up, i.e. many events are misplaced (wrong date), doubled or are wrongly considered to be repetitive events (with ending dates 2 or 3 years later!). I've tried it many times, and each time I get this result, but in a different fashion, i.e. some events that was well synced in the previous attempt are now badly synced and vice versa.

2. French accentuated caracters are displayed in Korganizer as little square. I've tried to set different encoding (utf-8, iso-8859-2, etc.), without positive results.

These problems could be considered as a regression, since they didn't occur on my previous installation of Kpilot/Korganizer, either on Debian or Ubuntu.

See also this Ubuntu bug report that seems to be related to the same problems:

Hi,

Just want to point out that I've tried to compile a fresh CVS version of Kpilot (Revision 373, Version: KPilot 4.9.0 (depth9), Version: pilot-link 0.12.0-pre5, Version: KDE 3.5.4, Version: Qt 3.3.6) on my Kubuntu Dapper box and it gave me the same result, i.e. corrupt Korganizer file (i.e. everything messed up). Since Kpilot has worked well most of the time with my previous Kubuntu/Debian machines, I'm starting to think that this problem may be related to my Clie/Kubuntu configuration... Any hint someone on this?

Anyway, the accentuated caracters problem is now solved, either in the original Kpilot Kubuntu package (4.6.0) or the compiled version that I've tried, only by using iso-8859-2, like I've tried before. I guess that some recent update of Kubuntu explains this...

Evertyhing appears to be working fine now with Kpilot 4.9.0 (deepsix), pilot-link 0.12.1, KDE 3.5.6, Qt 3.3.6 on Kubuntu Edgy. No messed up calendar! Things added on the organizer and/or on the PC (Korganizer and Kaddressbook) are well synced.

Yeah!
