Version: 0.18 #3016 (using KDE 3.5.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu0breezy1 breezy)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.12-10-amd64-k8

The idea to use a snapshot of bottom right zone of screen when quitting Konversation by closing the main Konversation window is not a good idea simply because when using the following options :
- either folding the desktop icon bar,
- or possibility of windows to go above icon bar,
then snapshot does not make sense !

Be careful with sophisticated ideas like this one not in phase with all desktop features !!!!

This is handled by KSystray, not Konversation.

Alright, it appears I made a mistake: While people tell me this is indeed in the libs since 3.5, Konversation still does it by itself currently.

Do you plan to find a replacement with just a message because even if you can detect desktop feature snapshot will not work ?

The cases you are listing where the snapshot "breaks" are not typical installations. They can also be fixed simply by detecting whether those instances are occuring (kicker folded/unfolded). The situation where the window is above kicker is definitely a corner case but it still helps to alert the "new" users to where their application went which is the point so showing the "snapshot when quitting Konversation" is "a good idea !"

Snapshot's gone.
