Description Dima Ryazanov 2006-05-11 23:02:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc version 4.0.3 (Gentoo 4.0.3, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux

I used "Tools->Download Manager->List All Links" in Konqueror, and tried to save everything to media:/sda1/...

Not only did that fail, but when I tried to save everything to /media/sda1/... instead, KGet started showing error messages about *every single URL*, saying that it is already being downloaded. The systray icon wouldn't respond, so there was no way to stop it. (And of course, files were not being downloaded, so there shouldn't have been any errors in the first place).

When I tried to test KGet again, on another desktop (free from error messages), I clicked "Download Selected Files", and nothing happened. Apparently, it showed the dialog box on the first desktop, so I couldn't see it.

So five bugs (sorry if I should've filed them separately):
1) Can't save to media:/
2) Thinks it is downloading a file while it's not
3) Many, many error messages about the same error
4) Cannot quit KGet while it is displaying an error message
5) Save dialog on the wrong desktop

I'm trying to reproduce this (I cannot), here's what I've done:

- let KDE mount a usbstick to /media/usbdisk, accessible via media:/sda1
- point konqueror to http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/download.pl?arch=i386&file=pool%2Fmain%2Fk%2Fkdenetwork%2Fkget_3.5.4-2_i386.deb&md5sum=e17480db1afc0d01838543d0186212b7&arch=i386&type=main
- open the "list all links" dialog and select on of the files for download
- go to media:/sda1 in the file dialog to save there

Transfer starts and it downloads and saves just fine. This is with the current version for the upcoming KDE 3.5.5.

Won't comment on the multiple error messages for now.

Your "5" bugs are depending on each other. I cannot reproduce your first one and thus also not the others.
