hy, i have a IBM x226 server with RAID 5 and IBM VXA tape drive 80gb/160gb.
I use Suse linux 10 and want to use kdat 2.0.1 thats part of this distribution.
this server has no internet connection.

if i start kdat i cant change the block size to more than 99. this doesn t work.
next prob is that kdat wants to format the tape but it cant cause "reading the magic string failed". if i want to format the tape and i confirm the message to format, the magic string message appears again and i am in an endless loop

i am no professional in linux so i need help to get this tapedrive running for a backup.
