This was just taken out for reasons specified in bug 115478. Amarok 1.4.3, KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu Edgy A recent change to KDE creates a .hidden file in a folder that can hide folders and files without requiring a dot in front of the filename. Now, because Amarok doesn't have a method to display hidden folders in its collection manager, those folders cannot be added to collections without hand-editing the .hidden file. See https://launchpad.net/bugs/66582 for more info. I think there should be a right-click context menu in Amarok's collection manager to allow hidden folders to be selected for scanning. Thanks I also agree that this should be added, and to get around bug 115478, just don't add recursively into hidden directories. Like, if I share my /home/user/ folder don't add /home/user/.hiddenfiles/, but give me the option to explicitly select /home/user/.hiddenfiles/. A workaround to this is to close Amarok and edit your /home/mike/.kde/share/config/amarokrc file manually and add the hidden directories you want WONTFIX. Hidden directories are hidden for a reason. |
