Serial camera are hands by Gphoto2. Sounds like a Gphoto2 problem. Have you a backtrace runing digiKam under gdb (if its crash of course) Gilles Caulier I'll have access to that machine in about a week. I'm very familiar with PC's but haven't used the tool you mention (sorry). I'll run as described if you can provide a brief procedure. The machine runs Sues10 (default + few multimedia tweaks from GEMReport) which has most of the likely tools available. I can run it in a box from the prompt easily enough or possibly under a debugger. However, I gave up programming 20 years ago and I don't want to compile the app (this is a machine I "watch over" for an old friend and she's prickly about messing w/it); also, I haven't compiled under Linux for about 5 years and wasn't happy w/the process even back then. Time is also an issue. Rufus --- Gilles Caulier <caulier.gilles@free.fr> wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com Rufus, This crash still reproductible using digiKam/DigikamImagePlugins 0.9.0-RC2 and Exiv2 0.12 ? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Gilles Caulier Rufus, is this crash still reproducible using digikam 0.9.2-beta3, exiv2 0.14 and a fresh update of libgphoto2 ? Many thanks in advance for any feedback! Arnd, I'm sorry, I can't help here. That camera has been retired to a shoe box somewhere safe (where I can't find it); we're using and old HP camera at the moment with a card reader. IIRC when the HP was originally acquired we plugged into the USB port and digicam ran it OK. I could verify that if you like (I think - have to see if the cable somewhere find-able). Nice to know people do follow up on the applications. Thanks for your efforts. Impossible to please? Perfect. Join Yahoo!'s user panel and lay it on us. http://surveylink.yahoo.com/gmrs/yahoo_panel_invite.asp?a=7 Hi Rufus, well, if the HP did work with digikam, I would be surprised to see it not working anymore (so I don't think you should spend any time on this ...) Maybe the original problem Fuji DX-10 is gone now. If you don't use that camera anymore and can't find it easily, I am not sure if it is worth the effort to check this. As there are also no further votes for this bug by other users, which indicates that no one else has (or had) this problem, I would suggest to close this bug and leave it for good. What do you think? Best, Arnd You're right. The bug isn't relavant anymore, so better to kill it and devote available time to current items.
