Description Rudolf Kollien 2006-03-09 17:22:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

I tried to use a public gpg key from a business partner of mine. One of his subkeys are expired by date. The rest of the key is valid. When i try to select the key f.e. for crypting a mail message, or assign the key to the contact in kaddressbook, the kgpg chooser doesn't allow me to select the key. It's always marked as invalid, though the key is usable and trusted by me (and marked as trusted).

In gpg the key looks this:

pub 1024D/E90E7556 created: 2003-09-29 expires: niemals usage: CSA
                     trust: uneingeschränkt Gültigkeit: uneingeschränkt
sub 1024g/A4737072 created: 2003-09-29 expired: 2005-09-28 usage: E
[ultimate] (1). Hans-Juergen Burger (sign info) <hans-juergen.burger@datenschutzbuero.net>

You can see, only subkey "A4737072" has expired. But it avoids the usage of the rest of the key.

AFAICS this dialog is not related to KGpg at all, but is based on gpgme++

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
