Description Chris Petersen 2006-02-23 23:01:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I dug around looking for this option, which I was sure that KDE had, but couldn't find anything in the settings, google or from people on #kde on freenode.

Gnome's alt-tab window switching feature draws rectangles on the screen where windows exist. I find this much more useful than the "window list" popup, which show up on the screen where I left my mouse cursor, not necessarily where I'm looking, and can often get confusing if there are a number of windows with the same title. Turning off this feature makes KDE focus the entire window, which would be fine except that the only way to differentiate between focused/unfocused windows is the title bar color (NOT enough, from a good UI standpoint).

The gnome way provides a dramatic change in appearance of the window, aside from the standard focused/unfocused look. I find it much faster to use this than the window list because I usually know where the window is, I just need to wait for it to highlight with this "super focus" highlight.
