Description Nicolas Brisset 2006-02-01 15:54:51 UTC
Version: 1.2.0_devel (using KDE 3.4.0, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3
OS: SunOS (sun4u) release 5.8

Currently, when adding view objects the user will spend lots of time changing back and forth between each drawing mode and the layout mode.
It would be much more comfortable if there was an option to either stay in a given mode (like when you want to add a bunch of arrows in one shot) OR to switch back to layout mode automatically once you've drawn one object, so that you can directly fine-tune its size and location.
A possibly easier to integrate (UI-wise) alternative I also like would be to do what I think Rick had originally implemented: add a temporary layout mode via some keyboard shortcut (like Ctrl or Esc when in any of the drawing modes). This would allow to adjust the properties of one object just after creating it, without preventing from creating series of them easily. It would also need to be documented otherwise nobody will find it :-)
