I need to know how I connected to a host as I have both VNC and RDP connections to our windoze servers (RDP is quicker, VNC allows administrator options unavailable under RDP).

To disconnect I need to log out of an RDP session and can just close a VNC session so being able to see at a glance which type of connection I used is essential.

FYI: KRDC is currently unmaintained, and as long as it remains so its future is uncertain.

This should be fixed for KDE4 beta1.
