Description Dave Belfer-Shevett 2006-01-30 04:18:38 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When using the Settings->Configure Shortcuts to redefine some of the navigation keys (I've redefined the Left and Right 'prev' 'next' functions to Up and Down arrow, which I find more intuitive), the option for selecting multiple messages is still bound to the old keystrokes, and the Configure Shortcuts menu has no way of changing that. In fact, to select multiple messages, shift-left and shift-right still select multiples, while up and down move the pointer. Only one of hte selections changed.

Note I am not railing against the default keyboard layout for kmail, that is a choice the developers have made. But a function redefinition should be possible and complete.

This works now in KDE4, the action is named "Extend Selection to Next/Prev. Message".
