Description Dik Takken 2006-01-10 21:32:22 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

I configured KDE to produce notification sounds at a low volume. The result is that all notification sounds are played at full volume for a fraction of a second, then the volume is turned down to the configured volume.

Should be fixed in KDE4
Comment 3 Dik Takken 2007-11-17 11:28:30 UTC
Ehrmmm... Is that a valid reason to close the bug? KDE3 will still be in use for quite some time.... Closing this bug probably means that nobody will ever submit a bugfix for the 3.5.x series anymore.

IHMO bugs like this should not be closed until the 3.5.x series is officially left unmaintained.
Comment 4 Olivier Goffart 2007-11-17 12:05:29 UTC
The problem is in artsd which is not realy maintained anymore anyway.
Comment 5 Matt Rogers 2008-11-19 23:39:59 UTC
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed.

Thanks
