Description Chris Holly 2006-01-04 16:10:16 UTC
Version: 1.3.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Here is my information about libraries installed;

libmusicbrainz-2.1.2-0.2.fc3.kde
libmusicbrainz-devel-2.1.2-0.2.fc3.kde
amarok-1.3.6-1.0.fc3.kde
taglib-1.4-1.fc3
libtunepimp-0.4.0-1.fc3
libtunepimp-devel-0.4.0-1.fc3

No matter what mp3 I choose, and click on 'Fill in the tag with Musicbrainz', there is no movement, no response.
Comment 1 Chris Holly 2006-01-04 16:14:58 UTC
Unsure, and IRC was very rude in asking questions
Comment 2 Mark Kretschmann 2006-01-04 16:31:15 UTC
Dude, I was not being rude ;) I was just pointing out that people should read the FAQ.

Anyway, you need to have libtunepimp built with mp3 (mad) support for it to actually work with mp3 files. Fedora of course strips any kind of mp3 support from their distro, for legal reasons.

Foo!
Comment 3 Alexandre Oliveira 2006-01-04 16:33:18 UTC
We don't support libtunepimp-0.4.0 yet. You need an older version.

Chris,
1. the amarok pkg in question (from Fedora Extras) was built using the quick-n-dirty patch from bug #94988. As such, this is a Fedora Extras-specific bug, and should have been submitted to bugzilla.redhat.com instead.

2. Re: comment #2, FE's libtunepimp doesn't support mp3. You need to install libtunepimp-mp3 from rpm.livna.org for the added functionality.
