Description Chuck 2005-12-15 18:20:29 UTC
Version: 1.1 (using KDE 3.4.2, Mandrake Linux Cooker x86_64 - Cooker)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-mandriva-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.12-12mdksmp

I open kwalletmanager, and when I click File, New Wallet, nothing happens. It never prompts me for anything.

It also shows I have no wallets at all.

If I go into Settings, Configure Wallet, the dropdown box for select default wallet doesn't drop down... and nothing is listed as the default.

If I press NEW, it allows me to enter a name for the new wallet. I click OK, and thats it. Nothing happens. Still no default wallet, and none show up in a list of any sort.

Programs accessing the wallets fail as well. SMB4k, for example, says "Opening the wallet failed! KWallet support will be disabled"

Is your kded running and functional? Try "dcop kded kwalletd" and see what
happens.

OK, I created a new user and it worked fine as them.

I logged back on as myself and now it works fine as me.

So it appears to be working now, but why was broken in the first place?

Because your kded was broken somehow. Most likely it crashed. It's a known issue and in KDE4 I hope to have kwallet moved outside of kded because of this.

Ok, well I appreciate your quick response! Thanks!
