Description kim Lux 2005-12-10 18:22:13 UTC
Version: kde-3.5-1.7-fc4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
Compiler: gcc-4.0.2
OS: Linux

I've got 3 users on this computer and every one of them has a different menu setup after upgrading to KDC 3.5.

On my personal account the "System Settings" sub menu is totally missing. It is on the root and other user's desktops.

I also can't edit kmenu. I right click the start button and select "menu editor" and nothing happens.

Let me know what you need to troubleshoot this.

Sounds like you should report this to Red Hat.
Comment 2 Aaron J. Seigo 2005-12-11 18:29:09 UTC
yes, this is certainly not a bug in the sources we ship =/
Comment 3 kim Lux 2005-12-11 19:38:22 UTC
Why does it go to Redhat ? Everything worked before the KDE3.5 upgrade ? You guys shipped KDE3.5, right ?

There needs to be a doc that explains what goes to Redhat and what goes to KDE. I've had this "it needs to go to Redhat" several times in the past.

kim: yes, we released 3.5. and then Red Hat (and many others =) took that release (as they do with all releases) and made modifications and then packaged it up into binaries and sets of data that get installed onto your system. if during the process of patching or packaging, the vendor introduces bugs there is not much we can do to fix it as we don't control those actions. HTH =)
