Description Florian E.J. Fruth 2005-12-01 01:32:20 UTC
Version: 0.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux

kmenuedit does not use the "menu item format" setting (kcontrolcenter -> desktop -> panels). this makes menu editing very confusing for users who do not use the default menu item format setting. i perfer menu entries sorted by their program names because that are the same as the one i often enter in the konsole. and as there is such a setting, it should be used by kmenuedit also

I ran into this on Kubuntu 6.06, where adding a menu item rearranged the submenu completely. This is something that should definitely be fixed.

I can confirm this with Malone bug #110938 (https://launchpad.net/bugs/110938).

Good evening,

I can confirm this bug as still existing in Kubuntu 7.10, the Gutsy Gibbon. Don't know what will happen to this bug in KDE4 and even if it still exists

This bug still exists in KDE-4.3.0-1 (Debian/SID) but at least KMenuEditor sorts the list by program-name (so that's what I wanted :)
