Description Sascha Silbe 2005-11-12 14:18:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

When entering an end date for an event in KOrganizer (Actions ->
New event -> Date&Time/End), the input-time forced validator is quite
annoying.

E.g.:
Start date: 18.11.2005
Wanted end date: 20.11.2005
If I type "2" at the beginning of the End date field, the input validator
rejects it (since 218.11.2005 is an invalid date).
If I delete the first "1" in the End date field, the input validator rejects
it (since 8.11.2005 is before the start date).

Thus, I cannot enter the end date normally, but have to resort to using
either Cursor-Up/Down (changing it only 1 day per keypress, very slow for
large ranges) or the date selector (no keyboard control, have to use a
pointer device instead).

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

This is already fixed.

In KDE4 (at least), the date field is edited by using the pop-up calendar. So this bug doesn't apply any more.

The time is editable with the keyboard, but you only get warnings after you finished editing.
