I'll do a little research to make sure that this fits RFC 2445 and 2447 and also make sure that it hasn't been discussed on the KDE lists already. Also, I'm going to try to fix this as part of a school assignment, so I'd like to be the first to submit a patch ;) Thanks. Created attachment 13135 [details]
Add the METHOD:PUBLISH line to generated ical files
The rfc requires a METHOD: line, so accepting this patch will make kOrganizer more standards compliant. Are you talking about iCalendar in files or iCalendar sent by mail? Ah! I see I misread the RFC. The file: ~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics does not need a METHOD: line, but it should be there when exporting to an iCalendar file (for use in email). I now understand that std.ics is a snapshot of a calendar, while most *.ics files are transactions that build a calendar. I don't see the harm in adding the METHOD: line to std.ics, but that's probably because I'm new to this ;) I'll ask on the kde-pim mailing list. As Reinhold Kainhofer noted, RFC 2446 doesn't allow attendees when using METHOD:PUBLISH. Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created korganizer-devel mailing list. Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved by now? |
