Description Unknown 2005-09-16 14:16:23 UTC
Version: 1.2.1 (using KDE 3.4.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-gentoo-r10

Viewing the list of keys, uids, and signatures in kgpg, all key elements are sorted according to the column sort selected. So, when NAME is selected, all UIDS and SIGS are intermingled along with any subkeys. This could make locating a UID or SUBKEY difficult.

As a suggestion, it would make sense to order the elements in a more organized fashion. i.e.:

Key Name:
--+ subkey 1
--+ subkey 2
--+ subkey n
--+ photo or other elements
--+ uid 2
--+ uid 3
--+ uid n
--- sig 1 (for primary uid)
--- sig 2
--- sig n

Pressing + for any of the uids or subkeys would show all subelements sorted according to the column selected. The sigs for the main uid would also be sorted according to the column selected.

The intent here is to have a more cohesive display of keys and key elements which would be fixed regardless of the sort order chosen.

See how the signatures for the main uid are interspersed among subkeys and
additional uids. This makes it confusing to look at. IMHO it would be more
convenient to show all key elements first, then signatures for the main uid.
any subelements (i.e. additional sigs for uids) would show under each element
sorted according to the column order selected.
