Bug 112107

Summary: avi files in html exports

Description Rutger Claes 2005-09-06 11:01:35 UTC
Version: 0.7.4 (using KDE 3.4.2, Debian Package 4:3.4.2-3 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12c01

It would be nice if there was some support for *.avi files in digiKam.

Now I get a broken image thumbnail and clicking it brings up an empty image viewer. If the broken image thumb would be replaced by the video-mime-type file icon and a click would launch the application associated with the video mime type, handling small video's would be much better.

Don't know if this is digiKam wish or some sort of plugin wish, but the same applies to the HTML export function. If you export an album containing avi files, the preview in the html is broken and the link in the html is broken because it takes you to an image page. Having a file icon as preview and a link directly to the video would fix this.

I know digiKam is not a video application, but because small video files are a part of what you can expect from a digital camera, digiKam should have some basic support for it (it shouldn't look broken)

Thanks.

Remove the avi extention from the settings and it will launch the player.

This bug is reported against 'imagesgallery'. This plugin has been replaced by a new plugin called 'HTMLExport', which is written completely from scratch. This bug report will now be closed.
