Description Ruben Jenster 2005-07-10 12:40:20 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Trying to print http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/lvm2.xml causes the kprinter status window where the print data generation is shown to loop endlessly - (100% CPU time ). Generating print data runs up to a few thousand even if there are only two or one page to print. Only solution is to kill the konqueror.

I tried this with cups and lpr as printing backend - same problem.

I don't know whether this is a general bug in kde or in the gentoo packages.
It would be great if someone could verify this.

Regards

Ruben

I quickly tested that site with firefox and kprinter and it worked fine.
So I assume the konqueror / khtml must be the problem.

I have found a similar problem with printing following page:
http://wrightreports.ecnext.com/coms2/reportdesc_COMPANY_C392AM890
the printer status hangs forever, but does not really consume cpu cycles. nothing is printed out.

printing directly from firefox to a printer configured in cups, works well.

I am here with SuSE 10.1, kde 3.5.5 rpm's.
