Description Magnus Kulke 2005-06-23 13:58:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
Compiler: gcc 3.3.5
OS: Linux

When i choose SSL/Plain as Encryption/Login Method for my smtp server, sent mails are not reported as success. instead the progress bar in the low-right corner stays at 95% and does not move. The mail however is delivered correctly.

I am experiencing similar symptoms when upgrading from KDE in FC4 to FC5 (KMail 3.5.2-0.1.FC5). One other comment, is that sometimes (perhaps 1 in 10 cases) the mail is correctly moved to sent-mail....disturbing. I would try other settings, but the same upgrade (FC4-FC5) also nixed the non-SSL CRAM-MD5 option for me: KMail will not get past the authentication stage (even though the tcpdump of the service clearly shows it is on offer, and earlier KMail handled it correctly.
