Description thomas 2005-06-18 22:18:16 UTC
Version: kmail 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

kmail erases mail on pop3 server when it`s starting up or it`s looking for new mail. i had this bug first with suse linux 9.1 (KDE 3.2) when I set up kmail properties the first time, I changed the properties (guess where the same as before) and then it worked well. now I upgraded to Suse 9.2 (KDE 3.3) and I had the same problem again.
I enabled " leave messages on server" and I hope kmail does it. I really like working with Linux/KDE, would like to know what`s going wrong with kmail.
regards
thomas

I don't understand that report.
Do you mean kmail erases the mail from the server despite being defined as "leave on server" ?
Do you still see this problem with KDE 4.3.1 ?

Considering the report is >4 years old with no followup and that we have other bugs that complain about KMail redownloading mails when the server url changes I'm closing this bug.

(btw, I read the report as KMail hasn't got "Leave messages on server" enabled as default, as POP is not designed for this use, it can but not intended, I'm marking the report as wontfix)
