Why not organise your mail by sorting them in various mail folders? I would find keyword support as described above helpful too, for exactly the same reasons as the reporter. Regarding sorting mail into folders instead: I sort mail religiously and have a rather complex folder structure, but my Inbox will always be my Todo list - if it's not in my Inbox, I'll forget to do it; and once something is done, I move it into the appropriate project folder. Thus, I keep mail regarding the current stages of projects I'm involved in in my Inbox. The ability to "tag" that mail according to keywords and then filter by those keywords would be incredibly helpful, and a welcome complement to the way I work (as opposed to a major change to the way I work). An idea: we are already able to "Mark Message As" important, todo, spam, ham, queued etc.; it would be great if these "marks" were configurable so I could add them as required and easily mark messages through the context menu. |
