Description basur 2005-05-19 10:11:21 UTC
Version: 0.10 (using KDE 3.4.0 Level "b" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.14-default

I have troubles logging into MSN.
Right from the beginning I had to enter my password twice or more, after that I am now using the KWallet and the password stored in the wallet is definitely correct.
When I try to connect I also ways get the password window with the message your password is incorrect and so on.

I have been listening to the not encrypted parts of the conversations between kopete and the server and kopete tries to authenticate without a ticket. The last message to the messenger server which should include the ticket as last parameter does not contain this ticket.
However, if I use gaim or the original MSN Messenger it works.

I don't know but it seems that the login process of kopete is different from the one proposed on the MSN protocol website linked on the kopete home page.
Or may be I also just don't read the source code correct.

e.g.: while gaim uses the nexus kopete doesn't.
I would describe this more in detail if there would be a chance for me to get nice debug
messages of all the actions performed by kopete when logging in but I haven't found and
option for that.

I would really appreciate if you could find out why it does not work.
Is there someone else experiencing the same problems?

My kopete is version 0.10 running on KDE 3.4.0 precompiled by SuSE.
I haven't tried to compile kopete from scratch yet but I can if necessary.

I have exactly the same behavior of MSN, starting from today morning. But yesterday everything worked fine.
Looks like protocol inconsistencies...

Same for me. Yesterday I got the message three or four times, but then was able to connect. Now - nothing.
