Description Helge Hielscher 2005-05-15 06:09:05 UTC
Version: 1.0 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs

Akregator does not respect KDE's file associations. E.g. I have set PNG and JPG-Images to be displayed in the embedded viewer, but Akregator wants to open them in an external application.

To add to this, my common usage of Akregator is to go through all my feeds, middle-clicking on the interesting stories to make them open up in tabs inside Akregator. I then traverse through each tab reading the articles. Sometimes, they'll be links in the articles for images, which I will middle-click on. When I get to the end of my articles, I find these images have not appeared and just have a empty tab called "Untitled", which is very frustrating.

Also, my friend uses bittorrent RSS feeds and stopped using Akregator as it had the same behaviour with .torrent links (Konqueror associations would make it open his torrent application).

I would also like aKregator to behave in the same way as I have Konqueror set. When I click on a link to image in Konqueror browser it opens in the same Konqueror window. But when I click on a link in aKregator it now opens it in GIMP.

monstermunch: Akregator now opens the files in external apps. (although the annoying tab is still there). But however, this bug is not what this wishlist item is about.
