Description JP Renaud 2005-04-17 17:57:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3-20050110 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.3.20050110-r1, ssp-3.4.3.20050110-0, pie-8.7.7)
OS: Linux

When clicking the "Select..." button next to the address field when composing a message, the window that pop up is unusable if a very long list of email addresses has been used before and has been collected by kmail.

For instance I collected a list of about 40 email addresses one day and pasted it into the adress field when composing a message. Now every time I click the select button, this list of addresses creates a very long line, much longer that the actual scree width. The windows is about four times wider that the screen and the "Add To" "Add as CC" etc buttons are inaccessible without dragging the window many times.

I think kmail should cut long lines ... or use an horizontal scroll bar when the situation arises.

not very clear because i blurred the text but the selected line is very long
and therefore the "Add" buttons are not visible and actually pushed very far
away towards the right hand side

With KMail from KDE 4.1.1 the behaviour changed. Now the "Select" button is only clickable if there's nothing in the lineedit and additional email addresses are added vertically instead of horizontally.

it works for me also in trunk.
