Description jeff pitman 2005-04-04 17:20:18 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from:    Unlisted Binary Package
Compiler:          gcc 3.4.2
OS:                Linux

With samba v3.0.11, kio smb is no longer connecting to servers that require authentication. Shares only requiring guest are browsable.

Confirmed smbmount and smbclient work.

I heared about it, it was broken by a security fix that removes the password from the URL

Could this be the same as bug #103673?

Just curious whether there are plans to address this in the KDE 3.5 timeframe. Or in 4.0?

I understand the devs are busy - I'm just trying to get a feel for how urgent the developers consider this one. :)

Thanks,
Lane

I think this works with:

kde = 3.4.1
samba = 3.0.14a

I've just tested this again and it WORKSFORME now. Try upgrading to the above versions.

Resolving, cause this works now.
