Version: (using KDE 4.4.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages When creating a new calendar as a sub-calendar of an existing one which already has work and non-work days etc. defined, it still starts out empty. It would help a lot if the sub-calendar would simply inherit the settings from the parent. For example, I added all public holidays to the base calendar and created a number of sub-calendars, one for each resource (so I can add their vacation days in there). However, the public holidays are the same for most (of not all) sub-calendars, so it would have been great if inherited.
It is inherited. There is a 'what's this' help on this view, hit SHIFT-F2. The trick with sub-calendars is that you only need to define what is different from parent calendar. Just leave the days/weekdays Undefined in the sub-calendar if you want to use the parents values.
SVN commit 1107297 by danders: Calendar: Show values defined in parent calendars (in italic) to make it clearer that sub-calendars inherit from parents. BUG:231902 M +94 -29 kptcalendarmodel.cpp M +3 -0 kptcalendarmodel.h WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1107297
This is great! Thank you so much! Is there a repository with code levels more closely to the current SVN version on Ubuntu somewhere? I currently get updates with new KDE 4.x releases, and could not find anything on the web pages.
Not that I'm aware of. Think you have to wait for the next beta release on April, 6th 2010.
