"Copy" uses the OpenDocument format internally, so it really looks like it's
the OpenDocument
saving code that is crashign for you. That is surprising. Can you get a
backtrace (e.g. run kword in gdb)?
Also, can you save the document to .kwd so that we can open it and try saving
to .odt ourselves,
in the odd chance that it crashes for us too?

I have updatet koffice today and installed the dev packages and the german 
language packages for koffice and saved it as .rtf (its working with 
openoffice 2.0) , but saving the document under .odt is still not possible, 
saving the document under .sxw is working but it is impossible to open with 
openoffice. hope the report helps.

crashes.

I am additionally having a similar problem with selecting text that contains
footnotes, reported as bug #132565. This may be related.

The crash is fixed now and the fix will be part of KOffice 1.6 beta1/final. A
lot of thanks for the feedback + the testcase!
