Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Using File->Reload does not reload files that are stored over sftp (and possible other types of remote file connections)
Yes, indeed Quanta does not reload if the document was not modified. But if you change your document the reload should work, you will get a message box though. Can you confirm this?
It does not work over SFTP, local files work fine. -Rolf Jens Herden wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
So you mean even if the file was modified in the editor reload is not working? Strange, can you please test if you can open the file in Kate or KWrite and check if it has the same problem or not?
Ok. The problem is that if the local open window had not been modified (in the editor not on the server) the file will not reload. If I modify it and then attempt reload it works. -Rolf Jens Herden wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
I'm sorry, this needs to be clarified. If I open a file via sftp and modify it on the server without doing any changes in the editor window it will not reload. If I then make a change in the window without saving and reload the changed document it works. I believe this is the same behavior for ftp as well. -Rolf Rolf Martin-Hoster wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
OK, thanks for testing again. What you say is exactly the bug I found and fixed already. The next version will work. Meanwhile you have to change your file in the editor as a work around. Thanks for reporting it.
No problem, thanks for making a great product.
