Version: 1.2.6 (using KDE 3.4.0, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.5-r1, ssp-3.3.2-3, pie-8.7.7.1) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-gentoo-r5 If I use the "sound" checkbox with an alarm and assign a sound, then uncheck the box, the alarm loses which sound was chosen. That means I can't just enable/disable sound by checking/unchecking the box. I need to check the box and then select which sound again. I think it would be better if the alarm remembered the assigned sound even if sound is not now enabled so that I can just turn sound on/off with the checkbox.
Can you please explain more fully why you want this feature, so that I can judge whether to implement it or not.
I have an alarm which I want to go off all the time, but I only want the sound sometimes. I tried using the "volume" slider, but the volume does not go all the way to zero, it just gets very quiet. So another option would be to have "mute" or allow the volume to be zero.
I think that when the volume is set to zero, no sound should be played. This has now been fixed in CVS, and will be in KDE 3.4.1. You will then be able to mute the sound by setting the volume to zero, while retaining the alarm's sound file selection.
