Version: 1.2.6 (using KDE 3.4.0, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.5-r1, ssp-3.3.2-3, pie-8.7.7.1) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-gentoo-r4 When my kde session is restored, kalarm starts with the main kalarm window up, instead of minimized. If I then click on the systray icon, I will have 2 main windows.

This doesn't happen on my system. Can each person who reported this please attach your $KDEHOME/share/config/session/kalarm* files which are present after this fault has occurred. ($KDEHOME is typically ~/.kde or ~/.kde3 .)
Sebastien and missive@hotmail.com - please send the kalarm session files, as requested, so that I can try to fix this fault.

But I have it with KMail now. Don't remember if I always got this problem with KMail or if they are related... So I think the bug can be closed. Sorry for the work it has given you.
I am not seeing anymore either.
This is happening again. I will attach the requested files.

I've tried your session file on my system, but the fault doesn't occur. Can you please attach your kalarmrc file also (.kde/share/config/kalarmrc or similar).

The fault still doesn't happen on my system even when using your config file. But I've put in a fix which I think should prevent it from happening again. It will be in KDE 3.4.2, and in version 1.3.2 of KAlarm from http://www.astrojar.org.uk/linux/kalarm.html. Please let me know if it happens again once you have been able to upgrade to either of those versions.
For some unknown reason, the bug has started happening on my system, and I have found out the reason - KAlarm is being autostarted before it is restored by session management. But there appears to be no way for a program to detect that it is being started by the session manager if it is already running. As a result, KAlarm thinks that it is being started twice and opens a second window which is the one you see. Unfortunately, it's really a basic KDE issue and very difficult to know how to fix, but I'll try to work out something.
Can anybody who sees this problem check whether there is more than one kalarm* file in $KDEHOME/share/config/session ? I now wonder whether old session files left hanging about may have something to do with the problem.
kalarm 1.2.9 (Using KDE 3.4.2) I see this behavior, but only have one file there.
I've come up with a workaround for the bug. It will be in KDE 3.5, and has also been put in the KDE 3.4 branch.
